The Dot Project and HeritageXplore are pleased to present The Pale Hour, a new body of paintings by Elizabeth Dimitroff, created during her three-week residency at Coughton Court this September.
The London-based British-American artist (b. 1995) worked in response to the house’s rich history, distinctive Tudor architecture and surrounding landscape, exploring the relationship between memory, place and the passage of time.
Dimitroff’s paintings occupy the uncertain space between recognition and recollection. Through layered surfaces, softened forms and images that seem to emerge and recede, her work reflects the way memories shift, blur and transform over time.
Now exhibited at the very place that inspired them, The Pale Hour brings contemporary painting into conversation with Coughton Court’s layered past, inviting visitors to reflect on what places hold, what time transforms, and what remains just beyond reach.
