KATHERINE JONES combines painting and traditional printmaking techniques to bring together disparate narratives in hyper-real or folkloric spaces. She builds layers, overlays marks and colour to create rich nuanced surfaces. Jones, work explores perceptions of safety and danger, often through the use of archetypal motifs. The tension between security and vulnerability, familiarity and strangeness, and our changing place in the natural environment are central to her practice.
